A few quick answers about how Lifevault works, what’s included, and how we keep your memories safe.
We make sure your digital copies are very clear and high-quality. While we don’t do full repairs on damaged photos yet, we can slightly enhance them to make them look their best. If a photo needs a lot of work, we can suggest experts who specialize in fixing old pictures.
No. Your originals never get mailed. A Lifevault Concierge picks them up, scans them with care, and returns them to you in person, in the same condition we received them.
It’s very easy. Our system does the hard part by grouping similar photos together. You just have to answer a few simple questions to help the system put them in the right order.
Yes. Your vault is private and secure. It is not like social media; you are the only one who decides who gets to see your family stories.
That's exactly what Legacy is built for. Each plan covers a set number of scans per concierge pickup — 100 with Starter, 250 with Premium, and 750 with Legacy — with any additional photos scanned at a small per-photo rate ($0.79 CAD, $0.59 CAD, or $0.39 CAD depending on your plan). For really large archives, Legacy supports up to 10,000 photos in your vault, and we can always schedule a follow-up pickup if your collection runs long.
Most beta members have a mix of physical and digital photos, and the concierge pickup is the easiest way for us to set up your vault together. If you only have digital photos and don't need scanning, just email us at support@mylifevault.co and we'll send you a private vault link directly — no pickup needed. (Once we're past beta, you'll be able to sign up online and skip this entirely.)
Yes. You always own your photos and your stories. While the vault is the best place to view them, you can download individual photos to your phone or computer whenever you want.
Most phone apps just give you a giant pile of thousands of random photos that are hard to search through. We help you organize those pictures into clear groups—like weddings, holidays, or childhood—so you can actually find and enjoy your memories instead of just storing them.
Your memories are never deleted. You have 30 days of full access after your plan ends. After that, we move your photos to a secure archive. They won’t be visible in the app, but they are safe and protected. If you ever restart your plan, your entire timeline will be right back where you left it.
